West Coast Lather is owned and operated on the west coast of BC. All of our products are handcrafted in small batches with 100% natural and biodegradable ingredients. We are a brand new company, so we aren't certified organic yet but our products are cruelty-free (not tested on animals), vegan (with the exception of our lip balms which contain organic beeswax). We test our products only on ourselves!
Our soaps are a perfect choice to use as part of your daily natural skin care routine. Our West Coast Lather family members have a bottle or bar by their kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, and in our showers too!
West Coast Lather's roots come from 2013. Our then 6 year old daughter started developing very badly chapped hands. She told us that whenever she used the hand soap at her school, it felt like her hands were on fire. We took her to the doctor and we were told that she had eczema. The doctor prescribed a cream and it helped but as soon as the cream was done, her hands started getting worse again. We did some research and someone suggested we get her to try using natural Castile soap rather than the hand soap from school. Well, it got better. And the more research we did, the more we learned about how MOST skin care products are full of chemicals that are KNOWN TO IRRITATE the skin. This is terrible for people with ultra sensitive skin (babies included), and for people with skin problems such as eczema or psoriasis.
One more story...
When we were in our infant stages of soap making, we had a request for a natural soap from someone that had severe psoriasis. It was so severe that she hadn't worn short sleeved shirts in years. She started using the natural soap that we gave her in combination with a very simple natural DIY cream that we whipped up for her. After a few weeks it was reported that she was wearing short sleeves because her psoriasis was getting better! We are not making any medical claims for curing eczema or psoriasis. But we believe that natural skin care gives people with skin problems the nourishment that their skin needs to heal itself... and ever since came our passion and our obsession to help people to have another chemical free option for cleansing their bodies.
Because our soaps are all biodegradable, they help to reduce the pollution in our coastal waters. Our west coast is so beautiful, and we want to help keep it that way!
